Assignments have a few unique properties. First, if you create an assignment then you'll have full access to edit its details, due date. In addition if you have correct access or are an administrator you can reassign tasks to anyone else in your unit. If you are looking at assignments in the app and have access, clicking on the "assigned" column next to the assignment will pop up a window to reassign to another individual.
